Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Pugh said George told police that he and a man named Mike Williams had asked to test drive a Chrysler at Trotter Toyota and used that car to drive to Little Rock, where they left the Chrysler and allegedly drove back in the stolen Dodge.

George was charged with theft by receiving and theft of property. He was being held on a $10,000 bond.

Toilet paper wedding dress winner chosen

NEW YORK, June 20 (UPI) -- Katrina Chalifoux of Rockford, Ill., won $1,000 for making a wedding gown out of toilet paper, Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com reported.

The prize was awarded at a Toilet Paper Wedding Dress contest during a celebration at Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium in New York.

Other winning entries in the fourth annual competition came from Texas and Hawaii, Cheap-Chic-Weddings reported Thursday.

Laura Gawne, Susan Bain and Roxie Radford, who run the Internet site on ways to reduce wedding costs, said they got the idea for the contest from a game played at bridal showers.

Cheap-Chic-Weddings advised contestants to construct wedding dresses and headpieces out of only Charmin toilet paper, tape and glue.

"The level of talent that presents itself each year always amazes us," Gawne said.

Troopers pull over solar-powered car

STILLWATER, Minn., June 20 (UPI) -- A Canadian flight attendant on a trip to the Arctic Circle in a solar-powered car ran into a roadblock as soon as he entered the state of Minnesota.

State troopers pulled Marcelo da Luz over Thursday as soon as he and his escort trailer crossed the St. Croix River from Wisconsin, the Star-Tribune newspaper in Minneapolis reported. While the Power of One car, 15 feet long and covered in fiberglass, attracted the troopers' attention, the escort turned out to be the vehicle causing problems.

Troopers said that the trailer is a commercial vehicle. Da Luz and his crew ended up spending a day in Stillwater to get a log book, Department of Transportation number and other required items.

Da Luz, a Toronto resident, hopes to break a distance record for solar power by driving 10,000 miles. He left Buffalo, N.Y., on June 12 and had driven through six states before hitting the snag in Minnesota.

"In spite of our initial special welcoming into Minnesota, it turned out to be one of our best and most welcoming stops," da Luz wrote on his Web site. "We met some wonderful people who were excited to have us here, showing us great hospitality and support to the project."

The Bykovs, honeymooning in Kiev, were the first winners. They learned of their luck in a telephone call from Marina Bykov's mother and said they plan to stick the money into savings.

A spokesman for the chain said that sales of engagement rings have gone up 8 percent since the promotion started.

While it rained on the Bykovs' wedding in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, the giveaway depends only on what falls at the airport.
