PRESLAV , Bulgaria, June 6 (UPI) -- Archaeologists in Bulgaria say centuries-old erotic graffiti on the fortress wall of Preslav, the former capital, have become a popular tourist draw.

Alexander Gorchev, director of the country's national archaeological reserve, said the drawings were believed to have been created by Bulgarian soldiers or workers during the 10th century, the Sofia News Agency reported Friday.

Gorchev said local officials are considering creating an "alley of love and sex" to increase the tourist appeal of the drawings.
