NEW YORK, June 6 (UPI) -- New York's Belmont Park says a bevy of Hooters waitresses will have to be a bit overdressed Saturday if they plan to greet Big Brown in the winner's circle.
Officials from the New York Racing Association cited the track's dress code, which pretty much disallows the daring orange short shorts and tight tops that are the trademark of the young women who wait tables at Hooters restaurants.
Hooters recently signed on as a sponsor of Big Brown and planned to have some of the company's comely servers on hand to greet the horse, which is an odds-on favorite to win the Belmont Stakes Saturday.
"NYRA has certain restrictions that pertain to proper attire and it is doubtful that the Hooters uniform or outfit would be considered proper attire," a source told the New York Daily News.
Despite the restrictions, the Hooters girls vowed to man the rail Saturday to cheer their hero on.
"Our attire is good to go," Manhattan waitress Tara Bizub told the newspaper. "If they have any complaints they can put them in our suggestion box."
