LAKE WORTH, Fla., May 29 (UPI) -- Florida residents said they want officials to survey a home that they claim is so infested with rats and roaches creatures are scampering onto the street.
Neighbors said they are irritated as they wait for the city to do something about the thousands of pests creeping around the Lake Worth property, The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported Thursday.
"They don't want rats in their house. I mean, they stink. And roaches everywhere. They don't want that," neighbor Rosa Aguirre said told the newspaper.
Police surveyed the home Wednesday and said the pest situation is out of control and it is up to the county health department to handle.
It is reported the home belongs to an elderly person who is hospitalized.
Health department officials were also scheduled to visit the home.
