Road cleanup may be a little sticky

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo., May 28 (UPI) -- Missouri officials said cleanup crews have been dispatched to the city of Maryland Heights to remove a sticky corn syrup spill from the interstate.

Jack Wang, a spokesman for the Missouri Department of Transportation, said trucks equipped with shovels have been sent to the site of the Interstate 270 spill, which resulted from a crashed tanker truck, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday.

"If they can't dig it off the roadway, they'll mix it with sand so it will clump up," Wang said.
