TOKYO, Jersey, May 26 (UPI) -- A Japanese plumber was arrested for allegedly tying up a phone line for 3,000 hours so he could hear the recorded voice of a woman, police said.
Tokyo resident, Hiroyuki Nomoto, 38, was accused of dialing a toll-free number of a food company about 500 times to listen to a woman speak on a recorded message, Sky News reported Monday.
"The company has the number for 24-hour order-taking with a female voice. He said he wanted to hear a woman's voice," a police spokesman said.
Nomoto was arrested for allegedly obstructing the business of the company, which is based in the city of Takasaki.
