BANGKOK, May 24 (UPI) -- Angry fish shop owners in Bangkok unloaded thousands of dead fish at a market office after a power outage caused the animals to die, officials said.
The 13-hour outage Thursday lead to the deaths of all of the ornamental fish in the Sanam Luang II market in Thawi Watthana district, the Bangkok Post reported.
The fish died because their tanks weren't getting enough oxygen, officials said.
About 40 outraged fish shop owners appeared at the market office to tell authorities they should have notified vendors about the outage, the newspaper said. To drive home their point, vendors said they went as far as unloading thousands of the smelly lifeless creatures outside the office.
''They should have called us. Our telephone numbers are posted in front of our shops,'' said Sornlak Yaemtas, 27, owner of the Thep Plathong shop.
