Sans-trunks swimmer arrested
RENO, Nev., May 21 (UPI) -- Police in Reno, Nev., say a swimmer naked from the waist down who was charged with indecent exposure may have been on drugs.
Authorities said Blake Lister, 23, was initially thought to be shouting for help when spotted floating down the Truckee River, but he resisted rescue attempts by the Reno Fire Department. Rescue workers said it became apparent he was singing and talking to himself, and did not appear to consider himself to be in distress.
However, firefighters forced Lister to shore after he pulled himself onto a large rock and revealed himself to be naked from the waist down. Reno Police Sgt. Dave Macauley said Lister was taken to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center for a checkup and was then arrested for indecent exposure, a gross misdemeanor.
Macauley said alcohol was not involved in the incident, but Lister allegedly said, "I'll never take drugs again" after being pulled from the water.
