DALLAS, May 13 (UPI) -- A Texas man has been charged for allegedly talking on his phone during a flight to Dallas despite flight attendants' repeated requests for him to hang up.

Joe David Jones, 50, president of Skyonic Corp., an environmental company in Austin, Texas, was confronted by police Monday when he stepped off a Southwest Airlines (NYSE:UV) flight at Dallas Love Field airport, the Dallas Morning News reported.

It is reported the executive was charged with disorderly conduct and could receive a penalty of $500 for allegedly ignoring flight attendants when they repeatedly asked him to end his cell phone conversation after the plane took off from Austin.

"Kiss my (expletive). Not happening," Jones told flight attendants when asked to get off the phone, a police report said.

Jones's spokesman Mark Clayton said his client was trying to get hold of hospital officials in response to a message he received that his father was having serious heart trouble.
