ORANGE, Calif., May 1 (UPI) -- An Orange, Calif., man said his neighbors erected a sign calling him a "dog hater" after he complained about their dog's barking.
Trevor Colon said he twice complained that a dog owned by Ric and Saundra Katz barks loudly for a period of time every alternating Wednesday morning, The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Thursday.
Colon said his neighbors responded by putting a 3-by-6 sign on the side of their home reading: "Sorry You Are Such A Dog Hater."
"I felt like somebody had slapped me in the face," Colon said. "I felt like I was in danger, like the next thing they were going to do is take a gun out and shoot me or destroy my property."
However, Ric Katz told the Register his intention isn't to threaten his neighbor, just to annoy him.
"I'm not really harassing him," Katz said. "We're aggravating him because he aggravates us."
Katz said Chloe, his 8-year-old boxer, barks every other Wednesday when the cleaners arrive.
"If my dogs barked every day, I could see there's a problem," Katz said in the Register article. "But two days out of a month is a problem?"
