SAN DIEGO, April 30 (UPI) -- San Diego police said a man with grand video-game playing aspirations was arrested after allegedly stealing two or three copies of "Grand Theft Auto IV."
Police said Dennis Richard Fiel, 27, allegedly entered a GameStop store Tuesday, the day of the game's release, and ran off with copies of the game after spraying store employees with tear gas, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported Wednesday.
Officers said they located Fiel shortly after the robbery at a Suzuya Japanese BBQ restaurant and the suspect surrendered. They said they recovered the can of tear gas and the games from Fiel's car.
"Grand Theft Auto IV" is the latest in a popular and controversial series that allows the player to take the role of a street thug and carry out various crimes -- including armed robbery.
