$2,300 found in mail collection box

CLEVELAND, April 24 (UPI) -- A Cleveland postal worker said she discovered a bank deposit envelope filled with $2,300 in cash and checks while emptying a mail collection box.

The worker said she gave the envelope to her supervisor, who managed to track down the owner and return the wayward funds, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported Thursday.

The owner mistakenly dropped the envelope in the mail collection box instead of a bank deposit box, WEWS said.
