PHOENIX, April 22 (UPI) -- Dozens of Phoenix-area residents have reported seeing unexplained red lights flying over the city, while witnesses reported similar lights in Florida.

KTAR-FM, Phoenix, said it received dozens of calls from residents who claimed to have seen the lights above the city for about 13 minutes before they disappeared to the east, the radio station reported.

"From my position, it looked like they were just hanging, not moving at all," one witness told KTAR. He said he "absolutely" saw something.

Meanwhile, witnesses in St. Augustine, Fla., said they saw mysterious lights fly toward one another in the sky during the weekend, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported.

"I looked up and it was like these two fiery balls like flying across the sky, sort of in formation," said Brandon Puckett, 12. "They were like flying toward each other."
