MIAMI BEACH, Fla., April 18 (UPI) -- The Ritz-Carlton hotel in Miami Beach is holding tryouts to replace the guy known as the world's only "tanning butler."
Malcolm Vincent is giving up his gig, which consists of bustling around the pool applying suntan lotion and cleaning sunglasses, and returning home to Maui to work for the family painting company.
The Miami Herald said the luxury hotel would hold a casting call for a replacement on Sunday. It will be hosted by celebrity Vivica A. Fox and will be limited to the first 250 applicants.
Vincent, 27, told the newspaper that his replacement will likely fuss over a fair share of celebrities, and he advised his replacement to play the part.
"Guests get a kick out of this service because it's so frivolous and over the top," he said. "My advice is to have a great personality, really be a people person and stay energetic. Try to embody the mystique of South Beach."
