BORAS, Sweden, April 11 (UPI) -- A former prisoner at a Swedish prison has been fined after he left bizarre goodbye gifts for female guards -- homemade wooden penises.
The 58-year-old former prisoner was fined $300 for sexual molestation after he sent the hand-carved phalluses to several female employees at the Smalteryd correctional facility following his release in 2003, The Local reported Friday.
The gifts were accompanied by notes from the man saying he hoped the items were put to good use.
A lawyer for the ex-prisoner argued in court that "in today's society wooden sticks and letters cannot be considered morally objectionable, in any case not in a correctional facility environment."
However, the court did not agree and the man was ordered to pay the $300 fine.
