Police: Suspected burglar fell asleep

KALAMAZOO, Mich., April 4 (UPI) -- Police in Kalamazoo, Mich., said a suspected burglar fell asleep during a home invasion early Friday morning.

Scott Merlo, acting captain of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety's Criminal Investigations Division, said officers arrested the suspect, a 35-year-old local man, after a resident returned home to find the man sleeping in a bed, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported Friday.

Police said the man attempted to enter at least three other apartments in the subdivided house before successfully breaking into the residence. The suspect was taken to Kalamazoo County Jail Friday on suspicion of home invasion.
