ANCHORAGE, Alaska, March 29 (UPI) -- A convicted thief allegedly began breaking into vending machines in Alaska mere hours after being paroled from prison, police say.

Police said mere hours after being let out of prison March 20, 38-year-old Patrick Bissey allegedly began breaking into vending machines and stealing their contents. The Anchorage (Alaska) Daily News reported Saturday that Bissey was arrested this week on related charges.

Anchorage police Lt. Paul Honeman said when several vending machines were broken into this week, Bissey's name immediately sprang to mind.

"If it's a vending machine theft, we automatically look down the list: Is Bissey back out again?" Honeman said. "He's not very careful."

Bissey was paroled March 20 from a correctional center and Honeman alleges the thief immediately went back to his criminal ways.

The police officer told the Daily News Bissey was arrested Wednesday after allegedly being found in possession of the tools necessary to break into a vending machine.
