LIVERPOOL, England, March 19 (UPI) -- A 7-year-old boy has been recruited by a Liverpool, England, Premier League soccer club.

Aspiring goalkeeper Harry Yates, who was also scouted by English team Manchester United, met Wednesday with the club's manager, David Moyes, to sign with the Everton Football Club, The Daily Mail reported.

The deal will put Yates on the same field as the first team to hone his soccer skills.

Phil Yates, the boy's father and a former goalie, said his son has been passionate about the sport since he was old enough to kick.

"He has no other real hobbies -- it really is his number one passion," he said.

The boy was scouted while playing for his primary school and a junior team, The Vipers.
