BOLZANO, Italy, March 14 (UPI) -- Italian police said a pregnant woman gave birth after she plummeted from a balcony while burgling an apartment.

Police said the 26-year-old Croatian woman was treated for bruises as well as her son's birth after she lost her footing while trying to enter a Bolzano, Italy, apartment and fell about 12 feet, ANSA reported Friday.

"They're both doing great after their little adventure," said a doctor at the hospital where the woman was treated.
