TORQUAY, England, March 14 (UPI) -- An 8-year-old boy in Torquay, England, has been banned from carrying tools in public after he allegedly threatened his neighbors repeatedly.

Michael Bratcher's mother, Lisa, 46, was given an anti-social behavior order that bars her son from possessing "any hammer, saw, screwdriver, nails, chisel, knife, scissors and secateurs in any public place," after he allegedly chased adults and other children around the neighborhood while wielding the objects, The Daily Mail reported Friday.

However, mother and son both deny the allegations.

Michael said he carries tools because he is an avid fan of TV program "Bob the Builder" and wants to be a builder when he grows up.

"I know he's no angel but what they said about him in court wasn't true," his mother said.

A separate anti-social behavior order was given to Michael's older brother, Daniel, 22. The order barred him from living at his mother's home or having contact with anyone who lives on her block.
