ANCHORAGE, Ala., March 9 (UPI) -- A car that sailed over a snow berm landed on at least two vehicles parked at an Anchorage, Alaska, strip mall, police said.
The Ford Taurus rested atop a GMC Sierra after its brief flight, The Anchorage Daily News reported Sunday.
Senior Patrol Officer Kevin Armstrong said the incident began when a driver side-swiped the Taurus, causing it to spin out of control and up the snow berm, which acted like a ramp.
The car smashed into the windshield of a Ford Ranger and then ricocheted onto the Sierra, he said.
The people in the Ford Taurus were taken to a hospital but were not seriously injured, Armstrong said. The other cars were not occupied, he said.
"One of the gentlemen was going to wait in the car," Armstrong said. "That would have been a bad deal. His head would have been about where the front tire was."
