ROME, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Rome has the most expensive breakfasts in Italy, a survey found.
The Italian news agency ANSA said Thursday that the average cost for a cappuccino and a brioche in Rome was nearly $7.30, tops among the 10 Italian cities surveyed by the consumers association Altroconsumo.
The same breakfast in Venice costs $6.95.
For the budget-conscious, the survey suggested trying the Bari, where a cappuccino and a brioche would only cost $3.94. Bari also offered the cheapest price for a single cup of coffee -- $1.70 a cup.
ANSA said the survey did find all 10 cities had one thing in common when it comes to the day's most important meal -- sitting down for breakfast is more expensive than standing at a bar.
