BERKELEY, Calif., Feb. 20 (UPI) -- A Berkeley, Calif., official promised the city would fix a street sign that misspells the state's name, a report said.
The Berkeley Way sign, with the state name spelled "Califorina," angered Berkeley nurse Kate McGlashan, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
"To misspell the name of the street, which is also the name of the state, means that someone is not paying attention at all," McGlashan told reporters.
The city recently renovated its street signs and plans to immediately fix the mistake, Berkeley Public Works Director Claudette Ford said. "I think that as a point of civic duty it should be spelled correctly," McGlashan said.
