LONDON, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- A poll of 4,000 housewives in Britain found they do work that should bring in between $56,000 and $58,000 a year.
The poll, conducted by www.alljoinon.com, a social networking site for housewives, found that most housewives work nine hours a day, seven days a week and found that if the average housewife went out to work she would be paid $11,689.73 more than the national average per year,
It revealed the average housewife spends 4.55 hours each day looking after the children, for which a Nanny would earn around $70, based on an average hourly wage of $15.50.
The summary went on to tally the amounts others would be paid to do a mothers' work to get the total of roughly $56,000 a year and more.
"This clearly demonstrates that not only do housewives deserve a wage for their efforts, they also need a break from the daily grind," said Carolyn Morris, spokeswoman for www.alljoinon.com.
