URBANA, Ill., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Police have arrested a man they allege attempted to deliver nearly 87 pounds of marijuana to an Illinois home through FedEx.

FedEx officials had informed authorities about the box's suspected contents and a sheriff's deputy was used to complete the delivery of the illegal package last Thursday.

After the undercover deputy delivered the package in the guise of a FedEx employee, Lee was arrested after allegedly picking up the package from his relative's home.

The suspect's cousin later admitted she had previously accepted 15 to 20 packages from Phoenix on behalf of her brother, authorities alleged.

The newspaper said both suspects were being held on $100,000 bail, Lee is facing 12 to 30 years in prison if convicted on the felony count.
