DUBLIN, Texas, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Mutual UFO Network officials visited Dublin, Texas, this weekend to talk to local residents who allegedly saw bright lights in the skies.
The Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram said Sunday the two groups met to discuss the unusual occurrence and determine whether the unexplained lights represented confused locals or a visit from extraterrestrials.
After Saturday's interviews with the witnesses, the head of the UFO organization's Texas chapter declared the sightings were indicative of a recognizable pattern.
"We believe there is some sort of phenomenon in action here," director Kenneth Cherry said. "We see a pattern. But it will take months to investigate."
The local incident in question occurred Jan. 8 when several dozen people said they saw a large object flying at high speeds near the ground.
The unidentified object also was flashing bright lights, which changed configurations as it flew, the witnesses said.
