CHOM BUNG, Thailand, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- The sign-up sheet for Sunday's Chom Bung 10-kilometer race in Thailand included a 94-year-old Thai farmer.

Peng Pemgsa started running at age 70 and has been in training ever since, Te Bangkok Post reported.

He says he has completed four full marathons and more races of shorter distances than he can remember. His marathon time is a respectable 4 hours and 20 minutes, the newspaper said.

After retiring from farming, Pemgsa said he was looking for something to do and got inspiration from a group of young people he saw running past his house. Though he has recently stopped doing full marathons because of the health risks involved, he continues to run every day.
