NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A Newport Beach, Calif., family is offering a big reward -- $10,000 -- for the return of a small dog, a Yorkshire terrier puppy stolen from a parking lot.
Pauline Jolly said her family's 5-month-old Yorkshire terrier, Louie, was abducted from her car while she was shopping with her children, Tatiana, 6, and Tristan, 10, at an Irvine, Calif., Target store, the Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Tuesday.
"I came out and noticed that my door was unlocked," Jolly said. "I looked around for my dog and my dog was gone."
Jolly said other items taken from the car included gifts she was intending to return -- a pair of pants for her daughter, soccer shin guards for her son and her bra.
"They stole the oddest things," Jolly said.
Police are investigating the theft.
"It was cool, it was raining, so we have ruled out someone angry that the dog was left alone in the car," Lt. Rick Handfield said.
