DUNBAR, S.C., Dec. 28 (UPI) -- A Dunbar, S.C., woman who allegedly wiped her nose on a police corporal's shirt has been charged with battery on a police officer.

Cpl. S.E. Elliott said he arrested Georgia Ann Newman after responding to a call at a residence and witnessing her bite a man at his elbow, the Charleston (S.C) Daily Mail reported Friday. A criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court said Newman spat in the man's face after he pulled away.

The complaint said Newman, 36, leaned forward while walking into the police station for booking and wiped her nose on the back of Elliott's shirt.

Newman was charged with domestic battery and battery on a police officer.
