EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Numerous security guards and East Rutherford, N. J., police put a damper on the breast-baring "Gate D party" at the most recent New York Jets NFL game.
"It's silly," said Fred Willbourgh, 40, of the large police presence near the gate. "It's all good clean fun."
The tradition involves women baring their breasts near Gate D during halftime but the ritual has received unwanted attention and has been put down by police, The New York Post reported Monday.
The weather -- it was in the high 30s for Sunday's game -- also may have dampened the tradition.
"In this cold weather, you'd have a better chance to see God," Jets fan April Castronovo told the Post.
