MISSOULA, Mont., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- A University of Montana student charged with assault for shoving a pumpkin pie in a mall Santa's face says the incident was part of his documentary film.
Clint Westwood, a 22-year-old drama major, said a clip of the pie prank will appear in "My Crazy Life," a collection of bizarre stunts inspired by professional skateboarder Bam Margera, The Missoulian in Missoula, Mont., reported Monday.
Westwood said he has already filmed a number of other antics bound for his film, including a clip of him sitting on a Santa's lap and urinating.
"That was one of the skits we came up with," Westwood said. "Then we came back to apologize and got Santa to sign a release form."
Westwood said he sought out his pie victim to offer an apology and ask him to sign a release, but fled when police arrived at the mall.
The student is scheduled to appear in Missoula Municipal Court on a misdemeanor assault charge. Westwood said he hoped Santa would drop the charge.
