PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Officials are telling New Hampshire pranksters that Cog Railway riders want to see a moon in the sky, not two cheeks on a mountain.
"Mooning the Cog," referring to baring one's behind to the Cog Railway as it travels over Mount Washington, is a tradition among hikers along the Appalachian Trail, WCAX-TV, South Burlington, Vt., reported.
Undercover officers have been riding the train to catch people dropping their pants on the mountain. So far, eight hikers have been charged with a federal offense, since they were standing on National Forest land.
They will have to pay a fine.
