FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Police in Okaloosa County, Fla., arrested a man on shoplifting charges after he allegedly drank two bottles of hairspray while inside a store.
An official at the Wal-Mart where the alleged theft occurred said the unidentified suspect routinely came into the store for his hairspray fix, but store security had been unable to catch him in the act until last week, the Northwest Florida Daily News reported Wednesday.
Loss Prevention Officer Christopher White said he saw the man drink two bottles of hairspray straight from the bottle Friday -- without paying for the goods.
White said the man, once confronted, admitted to drinking the hairspray said he was "a hard-core alcoholic."
When asked why he did not just alcohol with the $15 reportedly found in his pocket when he was arrested, the man said he was too tempted when inside liquor stores.
The Daily News said the man had previously been arrested on drunken driving and narcotics charges.
