NEW YORK, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A $25,000 chocolate dessert with gold shavings has made the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's priciest sweet, the New York Daily News said.

The ritzy confection, available at New York’s Serendipity 3 restaurant, combines super-special cocoa from 14 countries along with shavings from a mega-dollar truffle, plus 5 grams of (totally edible) gold. It’s served in a princess-worthy diamond-bedecked goblet with a diamond-encrusted spoon, the Daily News said.

So far, no one’s ordered the extravagant dessert, dubbed the Frrrozen Haute Chocolate. But New Yorkers have ponied up for other fancy fare recently, including $1,000 pizza and $55 mac-and-cheese, the newspaper said. And the restaurant also serves a $1,000 sundae, the Golden Opulence Sundae, another record-holder.

Chefs require two weeks’ notice to make the posh treat, allowing time for the elite ingredients to make the trek to New York.

"Let's face it: It's not for everybody," restaurant owner Stephen Bruce told the Post.

The restaurant was a setting in the 2001 movie “Serendipity,” with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.
