WRIGHT CITY, Mo., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A Missouri museum owner has placed his Elvis Presley memorabilia up for sale in the hope someone will carry on his theory that the singer is still alive.
Elvis is Alive Museum curator Bill Beeny said that by selling his collection, which includes alleged evidence for his controversial theory, he is hoping to find an individual open to carrying on his unusual legacy, The Telegraph (Britain) reported Saturday.
The 81-year-old Baptist minister's collection reportedly includes DNA evidence that allegedly proves that Presley did not die in 1977.
Another notable entry into Beeny's museum collection is an alleged recording of Presley's voice taken from a telephone answering machine six years after that historic date.
Beeny, who now plans on focusing on local charity work, told the newspaper that he is confident his life's work can live on just as he believes the famed rock singer did those many years ago.
"It will tear a little hole in my heart when we close this place down," he said.
"But someone else can run -- will run -- the museum."
