PARIS, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Authorities in Paris have come up with an ingenious way to put an end to the practice by French men urinating in public.
Much to the delight of Mayor Bertrand Delanoe they have developed an undulating wall that fires urine back in the direction of the offender, The London Telegraph reported Friday.
A prototype of the device is being tried out in the Paris area with the highest number of offenders.
Another device being tested is a sloping granite parapet that sprays urine back at the culprit and is difficult to stand on particularly after a third beer, the Telegraph reports.
Delanoe has been battling to end the unsightly and unsanitary practice of public urination since the rugby World Cup when dozens of men were seen peeing on the walls of the Paris town hall.
Making all portable potties on streets and in parks free failed to solve the problem nor did slapping fines of up to $600 on offenders.
