Court clerk allegedly fixed own tickets

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- A former court clerk in Minnesota has been charged with cheating Hennepin County out of more than $5,000 she had racked up in parking tickets and fees.

Dawn Nyberg allegedly used her work computer to override 73 tickets, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

The scheme unraveled when police complained that tickets issued to a 1997 Toyota had not been processed accurately. Nyberg was one of two people with the authority to expunge citations.

Investigators say that Nyberg expunged many tickets she had received between 2005 and 2007 and in other cases had entered the wrong vehicle information.

Nyberg left her job in June. At the time, she paid two parking tickets.
