PITTSBURGH, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Criminals are taking advantage of the season: Someone threw pumpkins at truckers driving on Route 70 in Westmoreland County, Pa., Thursday.

The flying vegetables shattered truck windshields, but no one was injured, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

State police said the assaults occurred early in the morning in Hempfield and Huntingdon townships, and the barrage came from a field near the road. The victims were truck drivers from West Virginia, Georgia and Ohio.

State troopers are looking for the culprits.
