ST. LOUIS, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- A Missouri man says the Aston Martin Vanquish he paid more than a quarter of a million dollars for is a lemon.
Gary Mathes of Sunset Hills has sued the British car manufacturer under Missouri’s Lemon Law, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. He wants his $258,300 back.
Mathes said that in the 11 months since he purchased the car last year he has made a dozen trips to the dealer to report problems with the engine, brakes, fuel system and electrical system, among other things.
Edward Gilkerson, the lawyer representing Mathes, said the car cannot be replaced because Aston Martin only made a few models each year.
The company denies Mathes' claims. The suit was transferred this week from state court to federal court in St. Louis.
Aston Martin is best known for the souped up models driven by fictional British agent James Bond in many movies.
