DETROIT, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Michigan state troopers were assigned to round up pigs from a Detroit highway Thursday.

Fifteen minutes after the troopers reached the scene they declared there were no more pigs on Interstate 75 in the River Rouge area, The Detroit Free Press reported. Only one pig appeared to have been caught, and troopers were unsure if others had escaped them or if the single pig had been multiplied by imaginative drivers.

Sgt. Ken Dilg of the Michigan State Police Detroit Post said the pig or pigs had probably fallen off a truck.

“Troopers got out there and found at least one,” Dilg said. “It looks like they’re all off the freeway now.”

The fate of the pig in police custody remained unclear later Thursday.
