Python thrown at Taco Bell worker

ROUND ROCK, Texas, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Three pranksters threw a 3-foot python at a Texas fast-food worker who happens to have a fear of snakes.

Bryant Simmons was working the drive-through window at a Taco Bell in Round Rock at the time of the incident Sunday, the Austin (Texas) American-Statesman reported. As he handed their order to three men in a pickup truck one of them threw the yard-long snake at him.

A spokesman for the store’s owner said that Simmons was shaken up but physically unharmed. The snake, possibly as startled as he was, didn't attack him.

Police were searching for the three men in the truck, using a surveillance tape.

The snake has gone to a good home. Mandie Page, who works at Thundercloud Subs near the Taco Bell and already had two pet ball pythons, said she was able to persuade police to put it in her care, the American-Statesman report said.

"As soon as I saw it, I had to have it," Page said. "I can't believe someone would throw it like that, because they could have hurt him."

Page was talking about the snake.
