Hans Paulsen was driving his automobile near Arbra in northern Sweden when he spotted a male and female elk on the road, The Local reported Friday. Advertisement Paulsen said he slowed but that didn't satisfy the male elk, which turned and headed straight for his car at top speed. "When he was right in front of me he dropped his head," Paulsen told The Local. "I pushed myself up against the side of the car and pulled my cap down over my eyes to protect them from shards of glass." Paulsen said the elk ran straight at the car, smashing into the windshield. The animal died of its injuries and Paulsen's car needed extensive repair work, The Local reported.
