'Craig bathroom' draws many visitors

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Tourists are flocking to perhaps the nation’s most notorious restroom -- the one in the Minnesota airport where Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, was arrested.

"We had to just stop and check out the bathroom,” said Sally Westby, who stopped at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport restroom with her husband, who had already been there once, en route to Guatemala.

Many visitors ask where the “Larry Craig bathroom” is, said Karen Evans, who staffs the information counter at the airport, The Idaho Statesman reported Sunday.

Some even take pictures, Evans said.

Other merchants in the airport also told the newspaper they get frequent requests for directions to the bathroom, which is located just off the food court.

Craig was arrested in the second stall from the right Aug. 27 for lewd conduct during a police sting.
