NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- A Kenyan woman is demanding a new home and conjugal rights before she will go back to her husband, her seven children, and four co-wives.

Mose Katana told Central Location chief Wilfred Nyiro that she either wanted the demands met or she would compensate her husband, Katana Kanyowe Mabati, for the wedding dowry, Nairobi’s Daily Nation reported Thursday.

Mose abandoned the home and the children three years ago to live alone in Malindi Town.

She told police that her husband didn't allow her conjugal rights for more than 18 months, focusing on his other wives.

“My husband, who is married to four other wives, stopped coming to my bed and concentrated on my co-wives,” she told officers at the Gender Desk.

She told the chief: “I’m unwilling to go back to this man because I suffered a lot under his and my co-wives’ hands. I’m ready to compensate him and start living freely.”

But, Nyiro said he wouldn't grant her payout request because he didn't want see a divorce that would expose the children to suffering, the Daily Nation said.
