NEW YORK, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- A New York artist has created what may be the world's smallest park -- a 1-square-yard patch of grass.

Artist Scot Kaplan wrote on the plaque for the Artists Park, which opened to the public Thursday, that the attraction is dedicated to "all who have taken the chance to live and work in New York, the greatest art city in the world," the New York Post reported Saturday.

"All others, please keep off the grass," Kaplan wrote.

"For those who struggle and achieve success, and for those who work in anonymity, this 1 square yard of green space is a place to put your feet in the grass as a respite from the surrounding tumult," the plaque reads.

The Thursday ribbon-cutting ceremony allowed visitors to take the first strolls through The Artists Park, one person at a time.

Anyone wanting to check it out can find the tiny park at West 24th Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, surrounded by art galleries and a few trees
