SYDNEY, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Australia is producing a booklet designed to help prospective citizens gain the knowledge they need to pass the citizenship test.
While the booklet focuses heavily on war and Australia values, it also delves into the history and Australia-related trivia, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews released the booklet, which contains 200 questions that could appear on the citizenship test.
The book reportedly runs 12 pages and focuses on Australia’s settlement, industrial development and sporting achievements. It nominates cricket as the nation’s favorite international sport, the Herald reported.
The citizenship booklet is serious about Australian history, as it tackles events like the tragedy on the beaches of Gallipoli, the siege at Tobruk and the journey along the Kokoda Trail, the newspaper said.
Andrews told the Herald the list of 10 values includes freedom of speech, equality of the sexes and respect for the rule of law.
