Paris Match published photos of the 52-year-old leader in a canoe with his son during his U.S. vacation earlier this month, which aroused suspicions at the news weekly, L'Express. Advertisement The news magazine challenged Paris Match, which said the photo had been altered, but not for cosmetic effect. Rather, it said, Sarkozy's position made the bulges look more prominent and staff had tried to alter the lighting of the picture, the BBC reported. "The correction was exaggerated during the printing process," the magazine told L'Express.
