BROCKTON, Mass., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Two carnies went against the grain for their Maryland wedding ceremony, going with a veritable circus with its own ferris wheel.
Carnies Meghan Jupe, 23, and Dave Bowling, 31, decided that after spending a significant portion of their life on the fair circuit, what could be better then marrying one another in the shadow of a ferris wheel, the Boston Herald said Wednesday.
So on Tuesday, two hours before the Marshfield Fair opened for business, Jupe walked down a makeshift aisle to the merry-go-round tune of "Here Comes the Bride" and the two were wed.
Then the newly married duo boarded the merry-go-round and enjoyed a spin as husband and wife.
The couple said they initially wanted a more traditional ceremony, but offered their thanks to their fellow carnies who helped spice up the event with a touch of circus flair.
"It was a lot more than we had expected,” Jupe told the newspaper. “I was really happy with it.”
