WASHINGTON , Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A Washington judge who lost his suit against a D.C. drycleaners has filed notice that he plans to appeal the decision to a higher court.
D.C. Administrative Law Judge Roy Pearson had sought $54 million from Custom Cleaners in the northeast of the nation's capital after the business allegedly mishandled a pair of his pants. The cleaner, run by Soo Chung and her family, had offered to drop a demand that Pearson cover tens of thousands of dollars in attorney fees if he dropped the case but the judge refused, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
Pearson submitted a two-page filing Tuesday to take Pearson vs. Chung to the D.C. Court of Appeals.
"Mr. Pearson had a choice today -- to make peace and acknowledge the Chungs' amazing generosity in absolving him of paying their fees or to continue with this ridiculous case and meritless appeal," Christopher Manning, an attorney for the Chungs, told the Post.
