COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A California collector has offered $10,000 for a promotional poster for Buddy Holly's 1957 concert in Columbus, Ohio.

Andrew Hawley put an ad in the Columbus Dispatch in the hopes that someone might have held onto one of the posters from the momentous rock show.

"As soon as someone sees the southern California area code on the ad, they're skeptical," said the 42-year-old rock poster collector, "but when they see that $10,000, they call."

But even with the ad, he hasn't had any luck.

"I've heard absolutely nothing from Columbus, which is amazing because Ohio was a haven for these concerts," he said.

Hawley claims to have a vintage poster collection of more than 3,000 pieces, finding them wherever he can.

"There is no rhyme or reason to where you look for them. They turn up at garage sales, flea markets," he explained.
